Dry spell

After some much-needed rain, today you can put away your umbrella. Skies will be sunny and dry, but the chill in the air will stick around for a few more days. Look for a high of 55 sometime late this afternoon, with lows flirting with freezing. That trend will continue Friday and Saturday, before temperatures warm up heading into next week.

From 6 to 9 p.m., Bree Sanders (“Diamond in the Rough”) will be at Signs of Life, 722 Massachusetts St. At 7 p.m., Hong Zhang, Ben Ahlvers and Louis Copt will discuss their work at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. And also at 7 p.m., The Raven Book Store, 6 E. Seventh St., will host a trio of authors: Nickole Brown, Jessica Jacobs and Stefanie Torres.
