Today in Lawrence: Put away your umbrellas and meet the artists
Dry spell
After some much-needed rain, today you can put away your umbrella. Skies will be sunny and dry, but the chill in the air will stick around for a few more days. Look for a high of 55 sometime late this afternoon, with lows flirting with freezing. That trend will continue Friday and Saturday, before temperatures warm up heading into next week.
Meet the artists
Throw on a jacket and head downtown to meet and greet an array of artists this evening. From 6 to 9 p.m., Bree Sanders (“Diamond in the Rough”) will be at Signs of Life, 722 Massachusetts St. At 7 p.m., Hong Zhang, Ben Ahlvers and Louis Copt will discuss their work at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. And also at 7 p.m., The Raven Book Store, 6 E. Seventh St., will host a trio of authors: Nickole Brown, Jessica Jacobs and Stefanie Torres.
