Raiders split tournament games

The Lawrence Raiders split their two games Saturday in the MB Tournament at Lawrence High, defeating the St. Joe Mustangs 11-3, and falling to the KC Barnstormers — White, 8-3, in a six-inning rain-shortened contest.

Tripp Wright went the distance against the Mustangs to earn his first victory of the summer, and gave the Raiders’ bullpen some much-needed rest according to coach Brad Romme.

“Tripp pitched a heck of a game,” Romme said.

The Raiders had multi-hit games from Colton Lovelace, Brad Kincaid, Hunter Gudde and Parker Tietjen to help account for 13 total base knocks.

The Raiders fell into a 4-0 hole after two innings against the Barnstormers, and could not fully recover. Kincaid and Zak McAlister recorded two hits apiece.

Two more games are on the slate today for the Raiders to round out the MB tournament. They will play Next Level Baseball at 11:15 a.m., and come back to face KC Barnstormers 18U at 3:45 p.m.
