Health Care Access selects first CEO

Health Care Access, Inc., a safety-net clinic that provides health care for low-income, uninsured Douglas County residents, has hired Beth Llewellyn as its chief executive officer.

In the CEO role, Llewellyn will serve as the clinic’s chief administrator overseeing the nonprofit’s mission, business affairs and strategic planning. She will be the organization’s first CEO as the clinic shifts from an executive director model. Kim Polson, data and policy coordinator, has been serving in an interim executive director capacity during the transition.

Beth Llewellyn is the new CEO of Health Care Access in Lawrence.

With over 25 years of experience as an executive in health care administration, Llewellyn’s most recent position was as the vice president of mission integration for Alegent Creighton Health in Omaha, Nebraska, the largest health care provider in Nebraska and Iowa, where she was responsible for mission and values integration throughout the system, community health planning, outreach and collaboration, medical ethics, faith community holistic health partnerships and leadership development.

Llewellyn has a master’s degree in health care administration from St. Louis University, a master’s degree in theological studies from Emory University, and a bachelor’s degree in personnel administration from Kansas University. Llewellyn is a Lawrence native and a graduate of Lawrence High School.
