Douglas County under severe thunderstorm warning, watch

Douglas County has been placed under a severe thunderstorm watch until 3 a.m. Monday. In addition, southwestern Douglas County was under a severe thunderstorm warning until 10:45 p.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Topeka announced the severe weather alert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Scattered thunderstorms could develop in Douglas County, bringing heavy rains and half dollar-sized hail, NWS said. The greatest chance for severe storms in Douglas County was before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Douglas County also was under a flash flood watch until 7 a.m. Monday.
