Bus route, schedule changes to begin Aug. 1

Beginning in August, several Lawrence bus service routes will change, the city has announced in a press release.

The changes are as follows:

• Route 5 is altering the way it serves East Hill Business Park.

• Route 9 will serve Rock Chalk Park rather than Route 2.

• Route 15 began running in May to serve the technical training facilities at 31st and Haskell and the East Hills Business Park.

• Route 29 will use a ‘B’ schedule, to be used on Saturdays, class breaks and during the summer semester.

• Several minor adjustments were made to other routes and schedules.

New transit guides will be posted around towns at grocery stores, City Hall, 6 E. Sixth St., Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St., at several locations across Kansas University campus and on all buses, the release said.

A full guide and mobile app can also be found online at www.lawrencetransit.org.

In each updated transit map, small numbers will appear next to each bus stop symbol, the release said. Those numbers may be used with the system’s texting service to learn when the next bus will arrive.
