Lawrence police continue search for alleged Walgreens robber
Lawrence police continued to search Wednesday for a man who allegedly robbed the Lawrence Walgreens at 34221 W. Sixth St. near Kasold Drive, Lawrence Police Department spokesman Sgt. Trent McKinley said.
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery just before 3:30 Monday morning after the suspect had fled the store, Mike Frizzell of Journal-World affiliate Operation 100 News reported Monday.
Employees described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, Frizzell said. He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a black mask.
The suspect was armed with a black pistol and demanded money from a cash register, dispatchers said. Police believe the suspect ran south along Kasold Drive and then left the area in a small red or maroon car, Frizzell reported.
McKinley did not have any additional updates to report Wednesday. Individuals with information about the robbery can call Lawrence police at 785-832-7509.
