From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for Jan. 19, 1990:

Expansion at Davol Inc.’s East Lawrence manufacturing plant was under way and was predicted to add up to 125 jobs within the next two years, the plant manager said today. Davol was expanding its local operations into the former Kansas Color Press building, which sat on 11 acres next to the Davol facility at 700 E. 22nd. Plant manager Dan Scheck said work had begun two weeks earlier on the Kansas Color Press building and that it would include some demolition, renovation, and expansion of the 90,000-square-foot building. “Everything should be in place and complete in about 24 months,” said Scheck, referring to the expansion and the job increase, which was expected to nearly double the current Davol workforce.
