Final architecture dean candidate to visit KU on Wednesday

The fourth and final candidate for dean of the Kansas University School of Architecture, Design and Planning will give a public presentation from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at The Forum in Marvin Hall, with a reception immediately following.

Bruce Stiftel is professor of city and regional planning and chair of the School of City and Regional Planning at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Planning Accreditation Board, the Steering Committee of UN-Habitat’s University Network Initiative and the editorial boards of International Planning Studies, Journal of the American Planning Association, Planning Theory and Town Planning Review. He is a former president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning and founding chairperson of the Global Planning Education Association Network.

The other three candidates, who all have visited campus in recent weeks, are Mahesh Daas, chair of the department of architecture at Ball State University; David Edelman, professor in the College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning at the University of Cincinnati; and Nan Goggin, director of the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois.
