KU School of Music to host Annual Scholarship Concert

The Kansas University School of Music will host its Annual Scholarship Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive.

As in previous years, the event features the KU Choirs and Symphony Orchestra. The concert also highlights the need for music scholarships and honors those who make these opportunities possible, providing an occasion for students to interact with scholarship donors.

This year’s program includes “Nänie, Op. 82” by Johannes Brahms and “The Planets, Op. 32” by Gustav Holst.

Tickets cost $13.50 for adults and $11 for children, senior and students. They can be purchased at the Lied Center Ticket Office, by phone at 864-2787 or at www.lied.ku.edu.

Those who can’t make it to the concert can watch the live streaming at http://new.livestream.com/liedcenter/som-feb21-14.
