Lawrence High’s softball team exploded for 17 hits in a 10-0 rout against Shawnee Mission Northwest on Thursday at the SM District Complex.

The Lions scored eight runs on 10 hits in the fifth and sixth innings, highlighted by a three-run double from sophomore Annie Grammer and run-scoring hits from juniors Brook Sumonja, Sami Mills, Amber Flummerfelt and Sophie Taylor. Flummerfelt added a solo home run to lead off the second.

LHS (4-4) will play Gardner-Edgerton and Mill Valley in the SM South jamboree on Thursday.
