  • Douglas County’s food bank, Just Food, has announced Nick Gregory as the organization’s new program coordinator. Gregory has worked at both 100 Acre Farms and Limestone Pizza. At Just Food, he will teach clients how to garden and cook through the Just Cook, Just Cook Kids and Just Grow programs.
  • The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced Charles Branson, Douglas County’s district attorney, as one of the recipients of this year’s People Saving People Awards. The award recognizes individuals or organizations for their efforts in improving traffic safety. Branson’s work to expand the definition of aggravated battery to include bodily injuries suffered from a drunk driver earned him the award.
