Kansas soccer blanks TCU

? Kansas University scored twice in the first 14 minutes, then held on for a 2-0 Big 12 soccer victory over Texas Christian on Sunday.

Senior Jamie Fletcher collected her second goal of the year in the eighth minute, and freshman Kayla Morrison netted her first career goal off a corner kick in the 13th minute.

“I thought the kids executed the game plan really well today but you have to give TCU credit. They didn’t quit the whole game,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “Any time you win on the road, you have to be happy and today we’re fortunate to get our second win this weekend and head home next week with some momentum.”

KU outshot TCU, 15-11, and put seven shots on goal. Kaitlyn Stroud earned the shutout in goal, the 12th of her career.

Kansas (11-1) will host Oklahoma State at its on-again, off-again new home, Rock Chalk Park, at 7 p.m. Friday.
