Flapjacks, floats and football mark end of Homecoming Week

Kansas University’s 102nd Homecoming Week will culminate with flapjacks, floats, football and a clothing drive.

At 9 a.m. Friday there will be a flapjack tailgate at the Adams Alumni Center parking lot. The cost is $5 per person. Also at the Adams Alumni Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, the Homecoming Steering Committee is partnering with United Across Borders in a campus-wide drive to collect clothing for the poor.

At 6 p.m. on Massachusetts Street, floats will be showcased during the traditional Homecoming parade, which will be led by actor, comedian and 1993 KU graduate Rob Riggle.

After the parade, a pep rally, featuring the Marching Jayhawks and KU Spirit Squad, will be held at the corner of 8th Street and New Hampshire.

Then on Saturday, KU takes on Texas at 3 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
