Assistant Douglas County District Attorney Katy Britton on Thursday charged a 31-year-old Leavenworth man with aggravated criminal sodomy of a 12-year-old.

The crime allegedly occurred on Nov. 18, 2013, in Douglas County, according to court documents. If convicted, the man could be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

The defendant will make his next court appearance on Monday.
