Lawrence Central Rotary Club to host 3-mile bike ride
The Lawrence Central Rotary Club is gearing up for its first Fall Community Bike Ride.
The 3-mile ride will begin at the Haskell Indian Nations University stadium parking lot at 10 a.m. Sept 20 and travel along the Burroughs Creek Trail in East Lawrence. The ride is open to the public and free of cost.
Several other activities will be on hand for kids. Instructors will help children take off their training wheels and learn to ride two-wheel; kids can be outfitted with helmets and learn basic safety tips; and children can practice and improve their skills during a “bike rodeo” event.
If it should rain Sept. 20, the ride will be moved to Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at the same location. For more information, visit RideLawrence.com.
