School district signs off on tax rebate for 9 Del Lofts project
The Lawrence school district on Monday approved a 15-year, 95 percent tax rebate for an apartment project along the 900 block of Delaware Street.
The project, known as 9 Del Lofts, involves 43 apartment units in a mixed-income, multifamily complex. The Lawrence City Commission also approved the same deal in September, saying the project’s rent-controlled and affordable housing made it worthy of the incentive.
The Douglas County Commission will also vote on giving the same deal to the project at its Wednesday meeting.
