Aquahawks openings: The Aquahawks are always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. Pickleball tourney results: Nearly 50 players from Kansas and Missouri competed in the first Lawrence Pickleball Tournament recently at Lyons Park. Local medalists were: Connie Robertson, Paige Carney, Kirk Devine, Charles Hart and Evan Jorn.

More pickleball: Seven Lawrence pickleball players medaled at the Kansas Senior Olympics in Topeka. They were: Paige Carney-Sandy Stephens, gold in women’s doubles 65-69; Fred DeVictor-Charles Hart, gold in men’s doubles 70-74; Ginny Honomichl-Kirk Devine, silver in mixed doubles 65-69; and Devine-Evan Jorn, bronze in men’s doubles 60-65. They all qualified for next summer’s National Senior Olympics in Minneapolis.

Eagle Bend ace: Wade Evans carded a hole-in-one on the 127-yard No. 17 hole at Eagle Bend. He used a 9-iron for the ace, which was witnessed by Franco Oliver, Brett Woolery and Lee Driver.
