Lawrence transit, library plan family storytime events

The Lawrence Transit System and the Lawrence Public Library will roll out a new storytime program for area families next week.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, and 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, the “Books and Bus” program will feature bus- and transportation-themed books read by librarian Linda Clay, followed by a downtown Lawrence bus trip. After the trip, participants can make a bus-themed craft project at the library, 707 Vermont St.

“Combining children’s interest in buses along with reading provides a good opportunity for working together,” said Rober Nugent, transit administrator. “Many of the kids will take their first bus trip with us, and we hope it will be a great experience for them.”
