Lawrence City Commission agenda for Nov. 25 meeting

Bottomline

City commissioners will consider approving the annual longevity bonuses for city employees.

Background

The city historically has provided a one-time bonus check for employees who have worked for the city for more than five consecutive years. This year, as in past years, city staff members are proposing employees who qualify for the program be paid $48 for each year of service to the city. The program is expected to cost about $424,500. The city has calculated 574 city employees are eligible for the program. If approved, the longevity bonuses would be paid in mid-December.
