Arts Center to host closing event for Tea Project installation

The Lawrence Arts Center on Saturday will host the closing of the Tea Project, a month-long installation by artists-in-residence Amber Ginsberg and Aaron Hughes, before the traveling exhibit moves to its next venue.

Artists, activists, poets, veterans, scholars, musicians, former Guantanamo Bay guards and fellow community members will share their stories about “curious moments of love and trauma” related to the War on Terror and the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp.

The event is scheduled for 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the Arts Center’s lobby, 940 New Hampshire St. Music, socializing and tea will begin at 1:30; stories, talk and poetry will start at 2 p.m.

The Tea Project exhibition will be on display at the Arts Center through Nov. 14.
