Today in Lawrence: Spoken word, Primal Fear

Spoken word

We here in Lawrence have plenty of wordsmiths, and you can hear them spit their work in the Voice of Lawrence Poetry Slam, tonight at 7 p.m. in the Big Six Room of the Eldridge Hotel, 701 Massachusetts St. Ages 18+. Free admission to poets accepted into the competition. $5 for all others.

Now fear this

Or put on your black T-shirt and head to The Granada at 7:30 for beloved German speed metal band Primal Fear, with openers Ancient Creation, Hellevate and Vanlade. These guys can shred. Tickets: $18 at the door.
