From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for May 4, 1974:

Parents who supported Woodlawn School’s behavior analysis program were making an effort to reinstate the program in whole or in part and had hired an attorney to assist them. Several parents contacted this week said they intended to “press the matter” of establishing a parent advisory committee to plan the school’s fall curriculum to incorporate some facets of behavior analysis teaching techniques, while other parents said they were considering transferring their children to a different school. School administrators had decided several weeks ago to terminate the program at the recommendation of Woodlawn principal Harold Siegrist. Several parents had hired a lawyer to “see if any rights were violated by the school district in deciding to terminate the program.” Parent Linda Brown cited the “wishy-washy treatment” of parents as a factor in her decision to request a transfer, adding that Siegrist had been non-responsive to parents’ suggestions for an advisory committee. Siegrist responded by saying the district could only “provide alternatives based on the money and facilities available.”
