Forum set for local candidates
A candidate forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 2 at City Hall.
The forum will include state Rep. Tom Sloan and Jeremy Pierce, who are running for the Republican Party nomination in the 45th Kansas House District; Boog Highberger and Abbie Hodgson, who are running for the Democratic nomination in House District 46; and Douglas County Commissioner Mike Gaughan and Gregory Robinson, who are running for the Democratic nomination for County Commission District 1.
The party primaries are on Aug. 5.
The forum is sponsored by the Voter Education Coalition, which is a nonpartisan organization, and Channel 6, and will be broadcast live on the local government channel, Channel 25, and at www.lawrenceks.org/stream.
The forum will be moderated by Channel 6’s Tabitha Mills and audience members will have the opportunity to submit written questions.
