Lawrence Habitat for Humanity to dedicate 84th home Saturday

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity will dedicate its 84th home, located at 204 N. Comfort Lane, at 9 a.m. Saturday. This home was sponsored by Women Build, which has sponsored six other Habitat homes in Lawrence.

The owner of the new home is Kamari Logan and her daughters Keyahna and Khloe. Logan, a longtime Lawrence resident, has been an employee of Hallmark Cards for the past 16 years.

This will be the final home constructed in the Comfort neighborhood, which has 15 other houses built by Lawrence Habitat. The first home was completed in 2006.

Construction began on the Logan home March 15. Volunteers have included City Commissioner Mike Dever and Mayor Mike Amyx, and groups from the Breakfast Rotary Club, Pawsh Wash and Kansas University women’s soccer team.

The mission of Women Build is to recruit and educate women on building and advocating for safe, decent and affordable housing in their communities.
