Today in Lawrence: Farmers’ market goodness, band concert and comedy night

Lawrence resident Torri Nobo and her daughter, Havana, look through a selection of tomatoes from a stand run by Pendleton's Country Market during a farmers market at Clinton Parkway Nursery, 4900 Clinton Parkway. The Clinton Parkway Nursery Farmers' Market features fresh fruits and vegetables. Stop and shop at the nursery and kill two shopping trips in one.

Get it fresh

It’s time to stock up on the season’s best fruits and vegetables. Head to the Clinton Parkway Nursery Farmers’ Market from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clinton Parkway Nursery, 4900 Clinton Parkway. Local farmers will have their latest crops up for sale.

Summertime band concert

It’s Wednesday, and it’s band night! The Lawrence City Band Concert’s weekly show is “The Musical Legacy – Midwestern Music Camp.” The program includes music that was performed by the Music Camp Bands under some of the great guest conductors who regularly conducted at the camp. Music includes Citation March by Claude T. Smith and Irish Tune From County Derry (the camp’s theme) by Percy Grainger. The outdoor show starts at 8 p.m. at the South Park Bandstand, 12th and Massachusetts streets.
