Playing to win

Hear some of the most talented young pianists in the world compete in the finals of the International Institute for Young Musicians Piano Competition from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Lied Center Pavilion, 1600 Stewart Drive. The event is free, and Lawrence resident Ulises Magaña de la Paz will be performing. The competition is part of the institute’s Summer Music Academy.
