KU men’s golfer qualifies for U.S. Amateur

? Kansas University red-shirt freshman Brock Drogosch qualified for the 2014 U.S. Amateur with rounds of 67 and 66, Wednesday and Thursday on Panther Lake Course at Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge.

Drogosch, who grew up about 15 minutes from the course, placed third out of 71 golfers. He is one of 312 total qualifiers to advance to the U.S. Amateur, Aug. 11 at Atlanta Athletic Club.

“I’ve been working really hard, and I’ve been seeing results this summer,” Drogosch said Thursday. “Today and yesterday were the best I’ve ever played. I had some good breaks but played really well all the way through with the long game and short game.”
