Seabury boys lose

? Coach Ashley Battles was anything but disappointed after Bishop Seabury’s 14-point boys basketball loss to St. James Academy.

“We fought,” Battles said after the Seahawks’ 59-45 loss on Tuesday. “It was basically a six-point game the whole game. We had a chance in the fourth quarter. If we could have avoided a defensive lapse, we could have knocked ’em off.”

Freshman Mikey Wycoff led Seabury (12-5) with 15 points. Avery Rouser and Thomas Uhler added eight apiece.

“We’re playing for sub-state,” Battles said. “We’re trying to play our game to prepare for sub-state. We could have played differently and kept it closer. But we feel good about it.”

Seabury will travel Friday to Eudora High.
