Haskell men’s rally falls short

? Haskell Indian Nations University’s men’s basketball team staged a 66-49 rally after halftime but lost on Saturday at York College, 121-113.

HINU (6-20 overall, 2-10 MCAC) erased much of a 72-47 first-half deficit, but couldn’t overcome 27-point performances by three York players. York’s Remi Mignott (29 points), Mike Buffalo (28) and Andre Vaughn (27) combined to go 12-for-24 from three-point range and 31-for-61 overall.

Sophomore guard Wilber Everett led Haskell with a career-high 26 points (on 11-of-12 shooting) with a career-high 11 rebounds.

Haskell turned the ball over 19 times, resulting in 13 steals, while York lost the ball just seven times for two HINU steals.

The Indians will host Central Baptist on Friday at Haskell.
