FSHS student earns computing award

? Free State High School senior Logan Brown has been named one of 16 young women in Kansas and western Missouri to receive the Award for Aspirations in Computing.

The awards were announced Feb. 7 by the National Center for Women and Information Technology and Cerner Corp. The awards recognize women for their accomplishments and aspirations in computing and technology.

Each winner receives a glass trophy, an Nexus-7 tablet, and other items donated by local companies and universities.

According to NCWIT, the awards were established to encourage the computing aspirations of young women, introduce them to leadership opportunities in the field, and generate visibility for women’s participation in technology fields.
