A little rain, a lotta sun

It’s Labor Day weekend, and if you have plans, you may want to pack an umbrella. The high today is expected to be 89 with a 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms. The low will drop to 67, with more showers possible. Saturday and Sunday will perk right up, with a high of 89 and 92 respectively, under sunny skies.

Final Friday

It’s Final Friday, and the smorgasbord of arts events has something for everyone. Henry’s Coffee Shop will have Kids-A-Bunga, a kid-curated art show, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 11 E. Eighth St.; the Phoenix Gallery, 825 Massachusetts St., will have featured artists as well as live music and a food preview of Lawrence Restaurant Week. No place like home

Lawrence-based musician Kawehi will play her first show Saturday night in Lawrence since her cover of Nirvana’s “Heart-Shaped Box” when viral earlier this year. Doors open for the electronic artist’s show at 8 p.m.; show starts at 9 p.m. at the Bottleneck, 737 New Hampshire St. Tickets are $9; show is 18 and older.

Off to see the Wizard

Ever gone over the rainbow on the big screen? If not, here’s your opportunity! Liberty Hall is screening “The Wizard of Oz” twice on Sunday. Showings are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts St. Tickets are $8, $7 for children 11 and younger and seniors 60 and older.
