Parks and rec to host Grandparents’ Day event
In celebration of Grandparents’ Day, the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is hosting Grandparents’ Nature Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 6 at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.
Participants will meet the nature center’s animals, create nature crafts and go on a scavenger hunt. The event is $3 for one grandparent and one grandchild and $1 for each additional family member. A free program will also be held at 10 a.m.
