LHS tennis third at Topeka West

April 23, 2014

— Thomas Irick took fourth place in singles, and Lawrence High’s boys tennis team placed third among 10 teams Tuesday in the Topeka West Invitational.

The Lions’ Irick and Elliott Abromeit each went 4-2 in singles, with Abromeit taking seventh place.

Panyin Boye-Doe and Adam Eudaly teamed to go 4-2 in doubles for ninth place, and Matt Carmody and Johnathon Kinder went 1-5 for 16th place in doubles.

“I was very pleased with our singles play,” LHS coach Chris Marshall said. “We played right to our seed. In doubles, Panyin and Adam started to put some things together. It was nice to see them win four matches today.”

The Lions will host the Lawrence Invitational on Friday.
