KU tennis falls to K-State, 6-1

? Kansas State handed Kansas University’s women’s tennis team a 6-1 loss Saturday in the Jayhawks’ Big 12 regular-season finale.

KU sophomore Maria Jose Cardona made quick work of Palma Juhasz at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1, but her win was the only singles victory for the Jayhawks. After claiming the doubles point, K-State collected five wins in singles to clinch the match.

Losers of seven straight, the Jayhawks fell to 11-11 overall, 2-7 in Big 12 play, while Kansas State improved to 9-12 and 3-6.

KU will head to Fort Worth, Texas, for the Big 12 championships Thursday through Sunday.
