Overland Park ? Brandon Bell and Parker Kirkpatrick combined to limit Shawnee Mission South to one run Tuesday in Lawrence High’s 4-1 baseball victory.

Bell pitched six innings to improve to 2-1, and Kirkpatrick worked the seventh inning for the save.

Kieran Severa, Michael Sinks, Doug Easum and Kirkpatrick each had two hits for the Lions.

“We did a lot of little things right,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said, “which is very important because South is very scrappy. Everybody chipped in and did a lot of great things.”

The Lions (5-3) will travel Thursday to Olathe South.
