Lawrence man injured in Jefferson County motorcycle accident

A Lawrence man is in fair condition at a Topeka hospital after being injured early Sunday morning in a motorcycle accident north of Perry, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

James D. White, 45, was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Ferguson Road, about four miles north of Perry, when the accident occurred about 12:45 a.m. Sunday. The motorcycle missed a curve in the road near 46th Street, left the road and entered a ditch, and White was thrown from the motorcycle as it rolled over, according to the patrol.

White was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and was transported to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka by Jefferson County authorities. Hospital officials said White was in fair condition Monday morning.
