State jobless rate falls slightly in October

? The seasonally adjusted state unemployment rate was 5.6 percent in October, down from 5.7 percent in September and unchanged from October 2012, according to the Kansas Department of Labor.

“The October labor report has positive news for Kansas,” said Kansas Labor Secretary Lana Gordon.

Since last month, Kansas grew by 3,400 nonfarm jobs, a 0.2 percent change, and private sector increased by 3,400 or 0.3 percent.
