Topeka Zoo to host Lawrence Day

The Topeka Zoological Park will host Lawrence Day Saturday. Lawrence residents will receive half price admission to the park with proof of Lawrence residency.

There will be Alligator presentations, animal chats and tours throughout the day. The 105th Lawrence resident to enter the zoo will win a behind the scenes tour of the African Lion Exhibit, according to the zoo.

The park will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with final admission at 4:30 p.m. To receive the Lawrence discount residents must present a government issued photo ID with a Lawrence address or a utility bill that can be matched to a government issued ID. A student or school ID from a Lawrence school will also be accepted. Other Gage Park attractions will also offer half-price admission, including Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, Gage Park Mini Train, Carousel in the Park and Blaisdell Family Aquatic Center.
