Overland Park ? Naomi Hickman scored 12 points, and Madi Bennett and Kristen Finger added 11 points apiece to lead Veritas Christian to a 42-25 high school girls basketball victory over Hyman Brand on Thursday night.

The Eagles raced to leads of 13 points after one quarter and 19 points at halftime.

“We only had six girls tonight because of some illness,” Veritas coach Kevin Shelton said. “We really attacked the basket well.”

The Eagles (7-6) will play Derby Invasion on Saturday in Eudora.
