Kansas University sophomore Chelsie Miller was named the Big 12 Swimmer of the Week by conference coaches on Wednesday.

Miller finished second (4:08.86) in the 400-yard individual medley at the USA Winter National Championships last week in Knoxville, Tenn. She also qualified for the NCAA Championships in March with a 18th-place finish (1:58.58) in the 200-yard butterfly.

Miller’s weekly award was the first of her career and the first for the Jayhawks this season.
