Kansas University signed 10 student-athletes to baseball letters of intent during the early signing period, coach Ritch Price announced Tuesday.

KU signed eight high school seniors and two junior-college transfers, with an emphasis on pitching: Six of the 10 signees are pitchers.

“We are thrilled with our 2014-15 recruiting class,” Price said. “We expect to lose several impact junior position players in addition to our entire weekend rotation and our closer (to the MLB Draft). Our coaching staff is excited about the depth this class provides on the mound as well as in the field. This is potentially the best recruiting class that we have had since I started here at Kansas, and if we survive the professional draft in June, we have a chance for these guys to put us in the top 25.”

The signing class is: Tyler Condie, 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher from Las Vegas Desert Oasis High/Southern Nevada CC; Tanner Gragg, a 6-0, 195-pound right-handed catcher from Blue Valley West High; Ryan Jackson, 6-3, 190, LHP from Las Vegas Green Valley High; Brandon Jackson, 6-4, 230, RHP from Las Vegas Faith Lutheran High; Ben Krauth, 6-0, 170, LHP from Concord Calif. North Gate High and Diablo Valley CC; TJ Martin, 6-0, right-handed catcher from Blue Valley Southwest High; Matt McLaughlin, 6-1, 185, right-handed infielder from San Jose (Calif.) Leland High; Ryan Ralson, 6-4, 225, RHP from Blue Valley West; Owen Taylor, 6-2, 185, right-handed/switch-hitting infielder from Grand Junction (Colo.) High; and Blake Weiman, 6-4, 190, LHP from Littleton (Colo.) Columbine High.
