KSHSAA bumps Seabury sports from 1A to 2A
Some of Bishop Seabury Academy’s sports teams will soon be competing at a different level.
When the Kansas State High School Activities Association announced its school classification changes for 2012-13 on Thursday, Seabury jumped from Class 1A to 2A. The change does not affect football classification, though, which is set through the 2013-14 school year.
As of Sept. 20, Seabury’s high school enrollment was at 106, putting it near the bottom of the 2A range (101-158).
Among area schools, only McLouth (from 3A to 2A) is making a change.
The Sunflower League was impacted, too, with both Shawnee Mission South and Leavenworth moving down from 6A to 5A.
