Historical society sets annual meeting
The Douglas County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts.
A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the meeting at 6:45 p.m. Author and historian Tom Rafiner will present “Order No. 11 and Cass County, Missouri,” a talk on the Civil War-era action taken against residents in eastern Missouri.
The meeting is open to the public. Reservations may be made by contacting the Douglas County Historical Society by Thursday at 785-841-4109, or by emailing reservations@watkinsmuseum.org. The cost is $40 per person.
