Meritrust Credit Union is sponsoring a free financial camp on June 20 at the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive. It is open to students entering fifth through eighth grades. Students will learn about budgeting, setting financial goals, managing money and making wise financial decisions. Outdoor activities, prizes and lunch accompany the financial lessons. Students will also have an opportunity to use the aquatic center’s pools in the afternoon. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited. • Lawrence Memorial Hospital has been named one of the “Best Companies to Work For” by Ingram’s, a Kansas City business magazine. The May issue features winners of its annual competition and LMH is among 18 companies to earn recognition. LMH, which has about 1,300 employees, was listed among the large companies that included: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, Burns & McDonnell, J.E. Dunn Construction Co., Lockton Companies and VML. Independent judges selected the winners based on compensation, benefits, culture and employee satisfaction.
