Douglas County commissioners set to finalize agritourism rules

Douglas County commissioners are scheduled to take final action Wednesday on new zoning regulations aimed at promoting agritourism businesses and special events in unincorporated areas of the county.

Those regulations have been the subject of intense debate for months. But in December, commissioners finally reached an agreement on details over thresholds that would trigger the application of building codes and public notification.

The final draft of those regulations will appear on the consent agenda when the commission meets at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St.

In other business, the commission will:

• Consider a conditional use permit for Hoyt Boat Storage, 32 N 1000 Road, submitted by Timothy K. Hoyt.

• Conduct a public hearing to receive comment on the use of construction management at-risk services for the construction of a new public works facility subject to a subsequent request for qualifications and proposals.

• And consider appointments to Codes Board of Appeals.
