Navy Seaman Recruit Natasha L. Carr, a 2012 graduate of Lawrence Free State High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Carr completed a variety of training, including classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, shipboard and aircraft safety, and physical fitness.

Army Reserve Pvt. Keith M. Hoover, a 2011 graduate of De Soto High School, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. During the nine weeks of training, Hoover received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.

Air Force Airman Christopher L. Royer, a 2012 graduate of McLouth High School, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Royer completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
