Woodland ties for 42nd in PGA Championship

? Former Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland shot 71 in the final round of the PGA Championship and tied for 42nd place. He shot three-under par on the front nine, then two-over on the back, including a bogey 5 on No. 18.

Woodland was on the first page of the leaderboard after the first round, then shot 75 in the second round and 79 in the third round to fall out of contention.

Woodland’s season in the majors ended better than it began. After withdrawing from the Masters following a third-round 85 and missing the cut at the U.S. Open, Woodland tied for 34th in the British Open and made a good showing at the PGA.
