Boys basketball tryouts for Mario Chalmers’ Team Rio program (second through eighth grade) will be held Saturday at Olathe Northwest High and Oct. 1 at Perry-Lecompton High. Team Rio “prides itself on teaching basketball the right way, through focus on hard work, positive attitude and a love for the game.” Team Rio players will be coached by former KU guard Jeff Hawkins, coach at Perry-Lecompton, as well as other coaches.
