Brandon Rush

Former Kansas University basketball standouts Brandon Rush and Julian Wright have confirmed they will be playing in the Legends of the Phog alumni game at 4 p.m., Sept. 24, in Allen Fieldhouse.

Rush, a 6-foot-6 guard, has played the last three seasons with the Indiana Pacers. Wright, a 6-8 forward, played for the Toronto Raptors last season.

Others to play: current NBA players Cole Aldrich, Mario Chalmers, Nick Collison, Xavier Henry, Darnell Jackson, Marcus Morris, Markieff Morris and Paul Pierce.

No word yet on No. 20 player: Kaleb Tarczewski, a 7-0, 220-pound senior center from St. Mark’s High in Southborough, Mass., tells Rivals.com he is “going with the flow” on finalists Kansas, Arizona and North Carolina.

“I guess that it’s just whenever I really feel comfortable, that’s when it’s going to happen,” Tarczewski said of his decision day. “Right now, to be honest, there are no real leaders.”

Tarczewski is rated 20th in the Class of 2012 by Rivals.com.

“Hopefully within the next few weeks, I’ll have a decision,” he told jayhawkslant.com.

No word on three frosh: The holiday weekend started with no word from the NCAA regarding the eligibility of incoming KU freshmen Braeden Anderson, Ben McLemore and Jamari Traylor.

Each of the three attended three high schools and had to submit additional materials to the NCAA Clearinghouse.

The three have yet to attend class and are not on campus as they await clearance.

The newcomers did attend summer school at KU in June and July, which is allowed per NCAA rules.
