Roadwork to slow traffic on Iowa Street from 15th to 19th streets on Tuesday

Traffic on parts of Iowa Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Tuesday as crews begin a one-day repaving project.

City officials said Monday that the northbound lanes of Iowa Street between Irving Hill Overpass and Bob Billings Parkway/15th Street will undergo an emergency repaving to fix rutting that has developed in the pavement.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in both directions from 15th Street to 19th Street. Some left and right turns also will be restricted. The lane reductions are expected to last until about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The city is encouraging motorists to use other routes, if possible.
